Friends of the Arboretum Annual Native Plant Sale – May 13, 2017 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

posted in: Environment, Events, Green Spaces | 0

The Friends of the Arboretum annual native plant sale takes place the Saturday before Mother’s Day, offering more than 200 species of native plants suitable for a variety of soil and light conditions.

No plants are dug from the wild. All are native to the area and, once established, require minimal care. During the sale, experts are available to answer questions. The plant sale is open to all. Members of Friends of the Arboretum receive a discount on all plant purchases.

2017 Native Plant Sale

MAY 13, 2017, 9 A.M. TO 2 P.M.

In the large tents near the Visitor Center, more than 200 species of native grasses; woodland, prairie, and savanna plants; and trees and shrubs will be available to purchase.

Download the 2016 plant list for an idea of the offerings. The 2017 plant sale list will be posted closer to the sale date. See the plant information sheets for information about particular plants.

ADVANCE ORDER SALE

A selection of  trees, shrubs, and prairie garden mixes can be ordered between mid-February and March 25, 2017. Download the 2017 advance order form. Orders must be received by March 25. Advance ordering is open to anyone. Plant pick up for advance orders will be on Thursday, May 11, from 1 to 6:30 p.m.

Why order in advance? At the tent sale on May 13, garden mixes will not be available, and tree and shrub selection will be limited.

Benefits for Friends of the Arboretum Members
