Cherokee Heights Middle School Food Pantry August Food Drive

Opportunity to be the first to donate!
Cherokee Heights Middle School (CHMS) plans to open their Food Pantry for the very first time on September 4th. While the CHMS space is being prepared, Westminster Presbyterian Church at 4100 Nakoma Road has agreed to accept your non-perishable food donations along with those collected from the congregation on Monday-Thursday, 9-4 P.M. during the month of August. Please see list below for suggested items to help fill their new shelves.
The Food For Thought Initiative (Food4TI) will support the CHMS Food Pantry with help requested from the community for both volunteers and monetary contributions. When they researched the need for food for these students and their families it was shared that 57% of the 540 students qualified for free or reduced cost lunches while 10% of the student population identifies as homeless. The need is great and your generosity is appreciated.
Requested items:
Canned Goods; spaghetti, ravioli, soups, beans, tuna fish, fruit, vegetables
Boxed Goods; such as macaroni & cheese, pasta, rice, cereals and oatmeal
Vegetable oil
Peanut butter and jelly
