You are all invited to come celebrate the successes of the first growing season for the Neighborhood Butterfly Garden. The Garden and the Open House are sponsored and supported by the Crawford-Marlborough-Nakoma Neighborhood Association, with much welcomed advice and support from the U.W. Madison Arboretum.
The Open House will be held on Saturday October 13, from 10:00 am until noon. If you haven’t been there yet, it is located at the corner of Warwick Way and Whenona Drive, at the pedestrian/bike bridge over the Beltline. Street parking is available on Whenona and Warwick.
We are very pleased that Monarch researcher and Arboretum Director Dr. Karen Oberhauser will be participating in our event! Please come visit, see what’s growing, what’s blooming, hear about our progress, and look for lingering butterflies, bumblebees, and other insects.
Come enjoy some treats, learn more about Monarch butterflies, and pick up some hand-outs on how to start your own butterfly garden!
For those of you who have helped out, from the initial lay-out and site preparation, to hauling mulch, putting in plants, donating plants, pulling weeds, and clearing out the fence line, please come and take credit for all your hard work! Thank you so much!!
