The newly elected PTO Board met last night for the first time and began planning for the 2021/2022 school year. Meeting minutes are here.
Though we are all looking forward to the warm days of summer and a little more normalcy and freedom (compared to last summer), the end of the school year is also bittersweet. Friendships have been made over the course of the year and sometimes it is hard to connect with our school buddies over the summer. The PTO is committing to finding ways to keep and enhance connections throughout our school community over the summer break and are in the process of developing plans to have safe, outdoor playdates and fun activities for all grade levels. Perhaps it will be popsicles and a book share at Marlborough park, a playground playdate at Thoreau’s lower playground, or bubbles and chalk at some other location accessible for our families. Stay tuned for emails from us with an open invite to some safe and fun play over the summer months so our kids can stay connected. If you have an idea for an easy activity or location that works for you, contact Alexa at president@thoreauschool.org or 608-320-6929.
