Short term volunteer opportunity in our neighborhood – Wednesdays June 19- August 14
Cherokee Heights Middle School (CHMS) Food Pantry will officially close when school ends, however, the need of families for perishable and non-perishable food will not end just because it is summer. Therefore, a pilot program for food distribution to about 20 qualifying CHMS families will begin on June 19 and end on August 14 with no food delivery the week of July 4th. This pilot program will involve volunteers gathering to pack requested food items for families from noon to approximately 3 P.M. at CHMS Food Pantry. An additional set of volunteers will contact a designated adult so that the groceries can be delivered to the families. Please consider this important volunteer opportunity.
