Just South from the intersection with Council Crest, on Ottawa, a large Oak toppled Friday night. The photos show the scene which is a very large tree with a structurally unsound root ball. The only advanced notice was the cracking of the sidewalk square in front of the tree which shows signs of recent repair and had cracked within two weeks prior to the tree falling over. This may indicate that there was some shifting of the tree before the fall. The city had a great response, and the tree removal was in process Saturday morning. Feel free to leave comments with any further information. At the time of publication there was no known significant property damage or injury to persons.
