Thank You to the Cherokee Heights Middle School Food Pantry Volunteers

Thank you so much to the Crawford Marlborough Nakoma Neighborhood Association (cmnna.org) for the generous donation of food and personal care items for the Cherokee Heights Middle School Food Pantry. More than 700 pounds were collected and delivered by Sue Reget, Norma Hove and Mary Odell this last Saturday. These items will make a huge difference in the lives of our neighbors and school children who are currently struggling through some challenging times. The pantry is open Tuesdays from 3 – 4:30 and Friday mornings from 8:30 – 10:30 for students and parents to shop. We also have a food to home program on Thursday afternoons for families with transportation issues. More than half of the students at Cherokee are living at or below the poverty level and about 10% of the students are homeless. These wonderful donations will go a long way in helping our neighbors. Thanks again!
